"Bell please come out to play!"
Here at Loveable Lops 'n Lions we like to think that our rabbits live a very spoiled life. They all have their own cage, yet always have a neighbor to lay next to, chat with, or just stare at. They are never alone even though they are in individual cages. At least once a week, during cleaning time, if not more often, they are let out into the bunny runs. They are segregated male and female. They play all together, and play very well. The only rabbits put out by themselves are pregnant and nursing does. As soon as they see us walking to the pens with them in arms they get extremely excited. They LOVE the runs!!! They would spend their entire lives in their if we let them. However, we do have predators in our neighborhood, so they are only let out when they can be supervised, and returned to cages when there is no supervision. When they are in the runs they jump, run, flip, bounce, climb the rocks, trees, and do anything else they can manage. Both sides have tires for them to jump in and through. The girls have the tree and the boys branches. Each side has a rock structure, like in the picture above.
We handle our babies from day one. Our mom's are completely fine with this. Many breeders don't agree with this philosophy, but we have never had a problem with it. All of our kids handle them from an early age as well. We find that this helps to give them a calm and loving temperament. It also socializes them from an early age, just like a dog or cat. We think you will find if you take home one of our bunnies you will see they have a great loving, calm, and well mannered temperament because of all how we choose to raise them.
